RAMAKI® (Raum – Material – Kind)

Our educational concept RAMAKI®learning through play is based on the framework for early childhood education, care, and upbringing, and on the box model by Regula Kormann.

The child is at the center of our nursery day and also at the center of our concept. This is based on the competent and cooperative child. We align our tasks with the knowledge that children learn from each other and require a supportive, creative, and structured framework for this.

The game materials are sorted and stored in boxes related to themes and are continuously adapted to the interests and developmental level of the children. During the free play phase, the children can combine the game materials in any way they like.

The nursery facilities are designed to be clear and low-stimulus. Through clear structures, orientation aids, and plenty of space for movement, the room offers the child the greatest possible involvement in favor of individual development.

Learning through play means our educational mission.

At the center of our work are the needs of the children. One of these needs is the desire to learn. Children learn through play and play while learning. The child wants to satisfy its inner curiosity and learn independently. Play activities and learning follow the child’s intrinsic motivation, meaning that only the learning that brings joy to children remains sustainable. Therefore, by providing extended periods of free play, we offer children an optimal learning environment.

We see ourselves as a learning institution.

We are constantly striving to give our best. The changing demands for childcare, as well as the evolving scientific knowledge, are our benchmarks and motivation for continuous improvement.

Participation is the foundation of our educational actions.

We start from the assumption of the learning, self-educating child, which has a natural curiosity and a strong will to learn. In order for children to be able to navigate their life worlds competently and independently, they need skills such as ‘being able to make decisions’, ‘being able to shape things’ and ‘taking on responsibility’. Therefore, we involve the children in as many everyday situations as possible and provide them with age-appropriate and challenging choices.

Our communication is appreciative and tailored to the level of development.

In both verbal and non-verbal dialogue with the educators, children learn to understand their environment and their own needs. Therefore, we place great importance on a well-maintained, appreciative, and developmentally appropriate communication.

Stable relationships are our foundation.

Children learn most successfully in an environment that provides them with emotional security, stable relationships, direction, trust, and warmth on the one hand, and challenges, new experiences, and moments of realization on the other hand, which stimulate experimentation, independent research, and problem-solving. Through needs-based acclimatization, stable group compositions, caring relationships, and establishing a partnership with parents, we provide the ideal foundation for the child’s development.

Eating is a social experience for us

Eating and drinking is much more than just taking in food. The atmosphere that children experience during meals influences their eating habits and their ability to enjoy food. For this reason, we emphasize fixed meal times and table rituals for those children who are already eating at the table. The children should look forward to the meals and enjoy the community. We also pay attention to qualitatively good and balanced food.

We value diversity.

It is part of the daycare culture to welcome and respect all individuals, regardless of gender, nationality, age, physical condition, disability, ethnic origin, religion, and sexual orientation. Norms and values are the foundation of our society. We see it as our task to convey these to the children in their everyday lives. It is crucial that children learn through play and their own experiences in everyday life or through social contact which behaviors are appropriate and successful. We rely on insight and understanding without pressure or coercion.

Our Vision

With our educational concept, we enable the children to develop into confident personalities in a protected, trusting environment, at their own pace and with a lot of fun.

Strong children are our future – we are committed to that.

In times of changing work environments, we offer parents flexibility.
